How We Began

The Company began as a confidence brand for little Joey III and Selah at the time 2 and 4 years old. Joey and Spiceda Jackson were celebrating their 6th wedding anniversary and reflected on the legacy they wanted to leave for their children and the importance of instilling confidence in them beyond anything else. "We realized that the images of African American success were not limited to professional athletes and popular public figures." They decided to expose their children to the greatness of black people beyond what was already publicly available and written in history books. They wanted their children to know that the accomplishments of Black people were GREATER than the 28 days of February, Greater than what was written, Greater than what is known, and is not limited to the past but continues into the present and will continue through them.

What Is Great Beyond 28?

GREAT BEYOND 28 is a Collection of Black Excellence. We will collect and we want people to share the stories untold of Black excellence that is happening NOW, that has happened, and will continue to happen. Because no matter what is out there in the history books, we know that "Black Excellence Continued even through Slavery and Racism". It did not stop when we were Kings and Queens in Africa and pick back up when Obama became President.

Great Beyond 28 is a platform where we can write our own story for our young people to celebrate. It is a place where we celebrate and build the confidence of black and brown people. It is a positive platform and daily celebration of black excellence with the goal to propel our greatness into the future.

Writing Our Own Story

Where is our history? Where are our Grandma's, Grandpa's and Forefather's stories? It lives on the inside of the elders here today and YOU. It is time to pass it on and we want to Collect it and Tell the stories of Excellence to our children. Telling the stories will instill and promote confidence in our little ones AND the most important gift you can give to a child is confidence.
